The donkey that Jesus rode into Jerusalem

Sinners are like donkeys…

While donkeys are biblically associated with poverty, humility and patience, in reality they are notoriously reputed for their stubbornness and uncooperative nature. But once being mastered, they can be companionable partners and very dependable workers. Sinners are like donkeys, stubborn to change and hard to correct but when they experience the love and mercy of God, they can be willing, pliable and steadfast in following their master. Won over by the blood of Christ, those who were once sinners like Saul of Tarsus, Augustine of Hippo, Mary of Egypt and Angela of Foligno (to name a few), had all become saints and bore witness in carrying His cross.
