Enter Through The Narrow Gate

Enter Through The Narrow Gate

“Strive to enter through the narrow gate” is a phrase we associate with the Kingdom of Heaven. Why is the gate so narrow? In entering a narrow gate, one has to empty himself of all baggage to pass through. Now, we know we can’t carry our material wealth into Heaven, but why? Doesn’t it seem unfair that we cannot even keep a little bit? Look at it this way: Having to leave behind our baggage is not a punishment, but a chance to be free, to live by what God has created us for: eternal joy in glorifying Him. “Be who you are, and be that well.” –St. Francis de Sales
